Obituary: Dart Peterson, Jr.

Dart G. Peterson, Jr. died peacefully on October 10. Preceded by parents Dart and Helen (Burke) Peterson, he is survived by Dot, his beloved wife of 58 years and by daughters Nancy (Arthur) Glidden and Susan (Tim) Darcy, both of Dayton, son Thomas (Rebecca) Peterson of VT and brother E. Burke (Margaret) Peterson. Dart also leaves grandchildren Lauren, Olivia, Jesse, Krista and Felicia, and his AFS "Daughter" Marianne Buehler of Switzerland.

Born in Cleveland OH on Jan. 15, 1924, Dart served in the US Navy in WWII and graduated from Western Reserve University in 1948. His 40-year career as a technical writer and editor was topped off in 1996 when he was honored as a Fellow of the Society for Technical Communication, an international professional organization. He was a long-time member of Shiloh Church. He and Dot retired to Bristol Village, Waverly OH in 1995 where he continued his life-long love of model railroading. A memorial service will be held Oct. 22 at 4 PM at Bristol Village Community Center in Waverly, OH. The family will receive friends at the Darcy home on Oct. 23 from 2-5 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Bristol Village Foundation, 660 5th St. Waverly, OH or Orchard Hill UCC, PO Box 1683, Chillicothe OH 45601.
