The October 15th meeting at Sinclair Community College included a free tour of the Center for Interactive Learning (CIL) with dinner after at the Spaghetti Warehouse. Our guides John Tomoser and Mike Atkinson took time out of their busy schedules to provide an interesting and information tour of the CIL. We started in the Forum, a 90-seat interactive video classroom/auditorium. After that, we spent time touring the other floors, peeking into various classrooms, viewing CIL exhibits, and learning more about the labs.

The highlight of the tour was the Alpha Lab, which is an interactive Allied Health Technology classroom. We walked in and were introduced to Pat, a human patient simulator. Pat is a full-scale, fully interactive, lifelike human simulator with a variety of clinical features that include palpable pulses, heart and breath sounds, hemodynamic measurements, and a voice.

After the tour, a handful of people went to the Spaghetti Warehouse for dinner. It was a small group and allowed everyone to chat and get to know some of their fellow technical communicators.
