President’s Message

I’m sure I would have laughed – somewhat desperately – if you had told me last year that I would be president again this year. Yet here I am, anxiously looking forward to the start of another year. For those of you who weren’t involved last year, following is a short list of our chapter accomplishments:

  • We received a Chapter of Excellence award
  • Between the Lines received an Award of Excellence
  • We received a Merit award in the Public Relations competition for the single-sourcing seminar publicity materials
  • Harold Fox became an STC Associate Fellow
  • Thea Teich graciously and gracefully made it through her term as STC’s president

We also held a successful competition, welcomed new members and volunteers into our chapter, participated in TechFest 2004, provided interesting monthly programs, and the list goes on and on.What a way to wrap up a year!

So, what can you look forward to this year?

How about ‘more bang’ for your membership buck? STC is transforming and so is your local chapter. It’s all about member value. Look for new meeting formats, less expensive meetings, dynamic speakers, and relevant topics. We are also partnering with a local training company to offer low cost courses to members.
