Hello Region 4

My name is Bob Dianetti, and I am the new Director (formerly Director-Sponsor) for STC Region 4. I have been a member of STC for over 15 years now. I have been quite active in the local chapter scene over the past many years, serving in many capacities including holding the office of President. I was awarded the Distinguished Chapter Services award a couple of years ago, partially due to my efforts to develop a technical communications certificate program at a local college. I co-own a technical communications consulting company called RADCom (www.radcomservices.com) and have been an advocate of technical communications since earning a BA in technical writing from Capital University in Columbus (a custom-designed approved multi-disciplinary major).

My job over the next three years is to act in a number of capacities supporting the society and the chapters in Region 4. Specifically:

  1. I will establish and maintain regular contact with the chapter leaders in Region 4.

  2. I will be available to answer questions about STC activities, especially the transformation efforts as they apply to Region 4.

  3. I will be available for consultation if chapter leaders or members feel there are any problems within their chapters. I was involved in the rebuilding of the Northeast Ohio Chapter, as well as a local chapter of ISPI. My knowledge from these two experiences may be helpful in other situations.

  4. I will be available to STC members if they have any questions. I also invite inquiries by chapter members if they would like to volunteer for any activities at the society level. I cannot promise anything, but I will try to find an opportunity for anyone who is interested.
  5. I will work hard to promote STC activity, increase membership levels, and enhance the experience for existing members.

I have started a group on MSN specifically for Region 4 STC members. This group will host a forum for us to discuss Region 4 STC issues and answer any questions about the transformation that is taking place.
