President’s Message
by Sarah Wigser

How do you feel about STC’s transformation initiative? If the transformation initiative is news to you go to www.stc.org/transformation for all of the details. If it’s not news to you, have you thought about what your STC membership provides you? Even more specifically, have you thought about what your association with the Southwestern Ohio (SWO-STC) chapter provides you?

Why all the questions? Believe it or not, membership renewal is right around the corner. And, as part of the transformation initiative, you can now decide if you want to continue your affiliation with the Southwestern Ohio chapter.

SWO-STC is fortunate to have hard working and dedicated volunteers who help the chapter provide services such as relevant programs, an award-winning newsletter and a frequently updated web site, free and inexpensive meetings, additional networking opportunities, and an annual raffle for registration to the STC annual conference.

How do we provide these chapter services? It comes down to one thing – your membership in SWO-STC. The number of chapter members directly affects the subsidy we receive from STC. This subsidy, which all chapters receive, is what allows us to offer the services and programs you have come to expect.

You may not realize it but SWO-STC rarely profits from chapter events and that’s fine with us. We’re not a business – we are a group of volunteers who work hard to provide you with the most value for your membership dollars. We’re concerned about the unknown but excited about the future. As STC changes, so will SWO-STC. Now is the time to show your support and renew your membership in both STC and the Southwestern Ohio chapter.

Feel free to contact myself or any member of the executive council to share your ideas and suggestions about the chapter.
