It's Nominations Time!

We're looking for enthusiastic, committed volunteers to run for office for the June 2005 - May 2006 program year. Do you want our chapter to continue to grow and innovate? If so, we need your help. The only requirement to run for office is to be an STC member and have the desire to serve. We will help you with the rest.

Consider running for Vice President, Secretary, or Treasurer if you're looking for a rewarding and fun way to participate in chapter activities. The benefits of serving on the Executive Council are many. To name a few, you get to:

  • Meet new people and build a professional network
  • Develop project management and negotiation skills
  • Give back to your chapter and the local technical communication community

Following are descriptions of the Executive Council offices.

Vice President (President in Training): Supports the President in administrative duties, maintaining a special awareness of all chapter operations and conferring frequently with the President. Assumes the President's duties when necessary. Automatically becomes President the following year (2006-2007).

Secretary: Takes minutes at Executive Council meetings; distributes minutes to board members, committee managers, and other interested parties; may also prepare other chapter-related business correspondence.

Treasurer: Responsible for helping manager chapter finances. Helps prepare a budget at the beginning of the chapter year, maintains a chapter checking account, deposits funds and pays invoices, tracks chapter expenses, provides financial reports to the admin council, maintains paper and electronic files of all financial information, and prepares year-end reports for STC.

If you would like to nominate yourself, another member, or just have questions, please email me or give me a call at (513) 884-9447. Nominations will be accepted through March 31st.
