Mark your calendars for the return of TechFest on February 21 and 22 at Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio.

TechFest is a gathering of schools, businesses and organizations to showcase technology in the Miami Valley to students in grades K-12. Families can have fun sharing and learning about technology; adults and students can find information on schools, careers, job opportunities, and technical and professional organization membership. Admission and parking are free.

SWO STC participated in the inaugural TechFest last year, and will also be part of this year’s event. We will need help planning our participation and staffing our booth, where we will present information about technical communication in general, and our organization in particular. Volunteers at Tech Fest chat with visitors and answer any questions. Two-hour volunteer shifts will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21, and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 22.

Please plan on attending TechFest. Bring your kids and spread the word to students and youth groups. If you would like to help plan our booth, contact Harold Fox at hfox@juno.com or Jean Fudge at education@stc-swo.org. Also, please think about whether you can volunteer for a shift at the SWO STC booth. Signup will take place in early January.
